Michelle Obama, in her bid to gain relevance after her husband’s term in office has gotten it all wrong. Out in London for her Becoming book tour, the former first lady in an interview with Stephen Colbert compared the United States to a broken home, and President Trump a divorced dad. Her comments which goes
‘We [America] come from a broken family, we are a little unsettled. Sometimes you spend the weekend with divorced dad. That feels like fun but then you get sick. That is what America is going through. We are living with divorced dad.’
These insensitive comments has drawn widespread criticism from Twitter users, some of whom are divorced American Dads striving each day to give their kids a good life.
First of all, Michelle, you don’t need anyone to tell you that America is sick because of you and your husband. Your husband created ISIS alongside Hillary Clinton and then caused the crisis in Libya and now we have lots of refugees scattered around the United states. And you open your mouth to call the man trying to fix the Immigration mess you created names? Again Michelle, need I remind you that your husband just left office about 3 years ago, so if America is a broken home, then your husband broke that home with his betrayal of the American people. He funneled billions of taxpayers dollars to Iran, knowing quite well about the threat they possess. His foreign policy was asinine at best. His handling of the economy was bad, and there was high rate of unemployment in the country. America would be better off without his stupid Obamacare scam. And here you are talking about America being sick because of President Trump? Let me give you some more information incase you’re suffering some memory loss. 55% of Americans disapproved of how Obama, your beloved husband handled terrorism, you want refugees coming in in large numbers like the caravan? O yes, that led to what happened in Paris attacks. His gun policy was stupid, and his executive order on guns was ill-advised. And like I said earlier, his handling of ISIS was poor.
So of all the problems your husband and his administration caused, I didn’t even mention spying on a Presidential candidate’s campaign, which exactly of all these was President Trump’s fault?
And to think you will be so mean as to insult innocent divorced Dads as poor fathers is sickening and you should be ashamed of yourself.
Some reactions from Twitter users reads:
Criticizing divorced parents or single dads is really a low blow,’ said one parent on Twitter.
Another said: ‘I’m a divorced dad who loves his kids and is every bit of a good parent as a divorced mom. I generally don’t like Trump and did like you, but you’ve shown that you can say just as rude and insensitive comment as Trump.’
James Wilkinson said: ‘As a divorced dad who gives his all every weekend, I gotta ask… come again?’
Jason Catena added: ‘As a divorced dad, I do my best to raise my son into a kind of man of which we all can be proud. Your comments doesn’t help people see that I’m conscientious and competent [enough] to do a good job.’
Michelle Obama’s comment is exactly what happens when you don’t think before you talk. But wait, the left don’t think, so we shouldn’t be surprised.
