The world wealthiest person and Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk in a tweet on Sunday replied to the 80-year-old and the current chair of the Senate Budget Committee Bernie Sanders, after the Senator repeated his call for billionaires to pay more taxes.
The 80-year-old Senator and failed presidential nominee of the democratic party in the year 2016 and 2021 tweeted that ” we must demand that the extremely wealthy pay their fair share.”
Even though the Senator never mentioned Elon in his tweet, this was seen as an indirect attack after the billionaire previously sold almost 3.6 million shares in Tesla, worth around $4bn.
The billionaire whose net worth of over $280bn has made him a target for the Biden’s administration responded: “I keep forgetting that you’re still alive.”
In a subsequent tweet on Sunday, he asked: “Want me to sell more stock, Bernie? Just say the word…”
