Melanie Ragan

Though classically trained, I'm probably less of a diva than I should be. I have twenty-five years of choral singing under my belt and at least a dozen years of being a soloist. It is just in the last several years that I've moved away from my classical roots and stepped into the world of rock, pop, folk, and a variety of other styles.

I manage a very busy work and personal schedule, but music remains one of my top priorities. I have been happily married to guitar player Chris Ragan since 2005 and our combined 5 children all share in our love of music. When we're not working, shuttling children to activities, or tripping over our menagerie of pets, we're almost certainly making music.

Singing with 7 Mysteries has broadened my musical performance horizons immensely. It's also given me a group of crazy, liberal musicians (is that redundant?) to share good music and good times with. The leap from classically trained soprano to rock star wasn't nearly as far as I thought. I can't wait to see what the future brings.
